Prior to co-founding the AlphaSeas Group, Mitul served as Head of Marine Business Risks at GE Capital overseeing asset, market & credit risks for the global marine investment portfolio. Before his assignment at GE, Mitul served as SVP Shipping & Intermodal Investment Management at DVB Bank SE in the Netherlands, where he was responsible  for evaluation of risk-reward metrics, in-house consultancy on asset, market and credit risks in equity deals and commercial and technical management of assets.  He has previously held various positions in the maritime industry through his work at DVB, S&P’s Research, Hudong Shipyard China, Imabari & Imari shipyard Japan, Teekay tankers, Valles Steamship. His roles included:  

• Heading the Research & Strategic Planning division
• Heading DVB’s technical committee; Advising new deal and credit committees & on the Recommendation Panel for global marine investments.
• Manager of ship construction projects in China &Japan 
• Shipboard operations for global players rising from the rank of cadet to Chief Engineer. 

Mitul holds an MBA from Lancaster University Management School, UK and a Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (Marine) from the Maritime & Coastguard Agency, UK. Global strategic management from Harvard Business School.  

 Prior to co-founding the AlphaSeas Group, Erdal served as the Chief Commercial Officer for Marine and Offshore finance at GE Capital responsible for deal origination, restructuring and client relationships. 

Before his assignment at GE, Erdal served as VP, Strategic Management & Restructuring at DVB Transport US LLC in New York, where he was responsible for asset management of debt and equity facilities with global coverage.   Previously he has held various positions in the maritime industry through his work at DVB New-York, Singapore and Rotterdam offices; Dunya Shipping, Geden Lines and Maersk Lines. 

His past functions included roles in: 

• Deal Origination & Relationship management 
• Restructuring and work outs
• Asset Management
• Research and Strategic Planning 
• Commercial Operations, S&P and Chartering 
• Shipboard operations as deck officer on various types of merchant navy vessels.

Erdal holds an MSc degree in Maritime Economics and Logistics from Erasmus University, Netherlands and a BSc degree in Maritime Transportation & Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey.  

Prior to co-founding AlphaSeas UK (Vessel Management Services), Capt.Gupta served in various capacities as an entrepreneur, ship manager, educator and sailor in the maritime industry. He is also the CEO of AlphaSeas' vessel management company based in Glasgow, UK. 

 He has 21 years’ experience in the shipping industry, including command experience in various deep sea and coastal vessels. His past experiences also include working as MSQ for a shipping company in Singapore and curriculum manager for leading maritime university in Scotland, teaching maritime law and nautical subjects to ship masters.

Capt. Gupta has also worked with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, UK as a marine surveyor where he was involved in surveying and commissioning of various types of maritime assets. 

He later founded a successful maritime academy in Glasgow and launched his yacht management company. Capt. Gupta was voted as finalist for "Entrepreneur of the year 2017" award in the UK.

Capt.Gupta holds a Masters (Unlimited) Licence issued by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, UK; a BA in Tertiary Further Education & a Diploma in Nautical Science.

Prior to joining the AlphaSeas Group, Spyros served as Senior Relationship Manager for Shipping Asia at Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) in Singapore, responsible for origination, structuring and execution of shipping transactions in Asia. Before his assignment at HCOB, Spyros served as Head of Credit Risk Management Shipping - Asia at  HSH Nordbank, where he was responsible for deal structuring, credit evaluation and legal documentation of shipping transactions in Asia. He has previously held positions in DVB in Singapore and the Netherlands. His roles included:  

• VP,      Intensified Credit Monitoring Team Asia, overseeing the restructured cases      of the bank’s portfolio in Asia.
• VP,      Credit officer coordinating risk analysis & advising on credit risk      transactions in the bank’s Deal Committee in the Netherlands
• Research      and Strategic Planning division in the Netherlands, overseeing the      Product, Chemical and LPG Tanker Markets.

Spyros holds an MSc in Shipping Trade and Finance from City University Business School, UK as well as an MSc in Finance (Distinction) and BSc in Economics from the University of Essex, UK.
